ANCESTRAL PUEBLOANS (ANASAZI) OF THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST #1:
COLORADO & ARIZONA

Accompany frequent traveler, Richard Grant, on a trip through time in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest to explore Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) archaeology sites.
In southwest Colorado you will visit old mesa top villages and climb down ladders into amazing cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde and the nearby Ute Mountain Tribal Park.
On the Colorado-Utah border, hike to striking red towers and see the sun dagger petroglyphs at Hovenweep. In Arizona, enjoy beautiful views of Canyon de Chelly (Tseyi) from rim-top overlooks and travel down into the bottom of both Canyon del Muerto and Canyon de Chelly (Tseyi) to experience the spectacular sandstone walls and ancient cliff dwellings deep inside the canyons.
Continuing on through Arizona, learn about Hopi culture and tour the historic Hubble Trading Post in Ganado. North of Flagstaff, Arizona, see an unusual northern ball court at the brilliant red ruins of Wupatki. Near Winslow, Arizona, watch an archaeology dig at the Homolovi ruins and hike into Chevelon Canyon, where you will get right up close to ancient rock petroglyphs, some that are thousands of years old. We end with a nostalgic look along this part of Historic Route 66.

Rialto Photos on Display at Applebee's
On Saturday, January 31, the Rialto Theatre Guild members celebrated the installation of two photos of the Rialto Theatre which will be on permanent display at Applebee's in Loveland. One picture is of the early Rialto, the other is after the renovation. See pictures from this event.
